Here are 3 top tips to help you keep fit and have more fun - and your dog will thank you for it too!

1     Keep up the regular grooming routine -

or if you don't already regularly groom then now is the time to start!

Brushing your dog has untold benefits, not only keeps the coat clean and in good condition, helps loosen excess hairs but it also means that you will be checking your dog over regularly and so more likely to notice any skin problems or cuts or ticks at an easier-to-deal-with stage.  Grooming can also help you to remember to keep up to date with preventative care such as regular worming and vaccinations.  And for when you need your dog groomed, we have Lela's grooming parlour on-site for you here at Little Revel End.

2    Aim to include just 10 minutes of dog training time every day

Training your dog in short sessions at home, with plenty of positive reinforcement
can be a great way to  build rapport,, grow your dog's confidence, and help mentally stimulate your dog's mind.  You can introduce some fun to the training session by adding in hunt the treats, hide and seek (dog sit's and stays whilst you call from another room) as well as the usual sit, stay, take and leave and recall..  If you need help with behaviour training - we offer 1:1 dog behaviour training sessions either here at Little Revel End or you can ask for a home visit.

3     Get started with Dog Agility!

Dog agility is a lot of fun and a great way to increase fitness and exercise for you and your dog.  Meg offers various group classes at Little Revel End suitable for older puppies and beginners right through to advanced and competition level as well as 1:1 agility taster sessions throughout the year.   For more information click here to see our Agility page and keep up to date by liking our Facebook page.

These 3 challenges should all help you to have more fun with your dog and if you would like anymore help or advice, we are only a phone  call or an email away.  Or why not pop into our shop and catch up there - you will be very welcome!
